সরস্বতী মন্ত্র - Saraswati Mantra

সরস্বতী হলেন জ্ঞান, সংগীত, শিল্পকলা, বুদ্ধি ও বিদ্যার হিন্দু দেবী। তিনি সরস্বতী-লক্ষ্মী-পার্বতী এই ত্রিদেবীর অন্যতম। এই ত্রিদেবীর কাজ হল ব্রহ্মা, বিষ্ণু ও শিবকে যথাক্রমে জগৎ সৃষ্টি পালন করতে সাহায্য করা।

সরস্বতী ক্ষেত্রভেদে দ্বিভূজা অথবা চতুর্ভূজা এবং মরালবাহনা অথবা ময়ূরবাহনা। উত্তর ও দক্ষিণ ভারতে সাধারণত ময়ূরবাহনা চতুর্ভূজা সরস্বতী পূজিত হন। ইনি অক্ষমালা, কমণ্ডলু, বীণা ও বেদপুস্তকধারিণী। বাংলা তথা পূর্বভারতে সরস্বতী দ্বিভূজা ও রাজহংসের পৃষ্ঠে আসীনা।

সরস্বতীর প্রথম উল্লেখ পাওয়া যায় ঋগ্বেদে। বৈদিক যুগ থেকে আধুনিক যুগ পর্যন্ত তিনি হিন্দুধর্মের একজন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দেবী। হিন্দুরা বসন্তপঞ্চমী (মাঘ মাসের শুক্লাপঞ্চমী তিথি) তিথিতে সরস্বতী পূজা করে। এই দিন ছোটো ছোটো ছেলেমেয়েদের হাতেখড়ি হয়। বৌদ্ধ ও পশ্চিম ও মধ্য ভারতে জৈনরাও সরস্বতীর পূজা করেন। জ্ঞান, সংগীত ও শিল্পকলার দেবী হিসেবে ভারতের বাইরে জাপান, ভিয়েতনাম, বালি (ইন্দোনেশিয়া) ও মায়ানমারেও সরস্বতী পূজার চল আছে।
